It can take time for your media to upload to Kaltura MediaSpace and then be processed by the system. This can be anywhere from a couple of minutes to more than half an hour, depending on the size and format of your media file. The following image will appear in place of your media whilst it processes:

We always recommend that you give yourself at least an hour to upload and allow the system to process your file. You can then preview and submit your work.

If several hours have passed and you are still seeing the "Media is being processed" image (above), please contact IT Self Service Portal.

This screencast provides practical tips to improve your videos and demonstrates how to submit a video to a Video Assignment activity.

First, you need to upload your video to MediaSpace and then you can submit it to the Video Assignment.

1. Log into Moodle
2. From the top navigation, open the Utilities drop-down menu, Select My Media.

3. Select Add New.
4. Select Media Upload.
5. Select the Choose a file to upload button. File Explorer will open.
6. Select the multimedia file for upload and select Open on File Explorer.
7. You can edit the Title and Description of the multimedia file if necessary.
8. Scroll to the end of the page and select Save.
9. Once the file has uploaded, select Go To My Media.
10. Select My Modules on the top navigation menu to return to the modules you are enrolled on. Select the link to the module where you need to submit Video Assignment.

1. Select the Video assignment from the relevant section on your module. Alternatively, select the Video Assignments link in your Module Dashboard to open a list of all your Video Assignments. On Grid format, open the Block drawer and navigate to the Activities block, select the link to Video Assignments. Select the relevant assignment to open it.
2. Once you are in your assignment submission area, choose the Add media submission button.

   

3. A new window will appear displaying all files already uploaded to Kaltura MediaSpace.
4. Choose Select next to the relevant file.

   

• NB If your video is still processing (and displays the image below), it can still be submitted as a video assignment. We recommend uploading your media at least an hour before the assignment deadline so that you can preview it and make amendments if required.

5. Your assignment file will display in the video assignment submission area.
6. If you are happy that the file is correct, select the Submit media button.
   • If you want to change the file, select Replace media and repeat Steps 4-6.
7. After selecting Submit media, a confirmation message will display - Success, your assignment has been submitted.
   • There are no email confirmations for video and audio assignments, but if you select the link to the Video Assignment, you can preview the submitted file.
8. Select Continue.
