Submit multimedia coursework to Video Assignment guide

This guide explains how to submit a multimedia assignment.

About Video Assignment

You may be required to create a multimedia resource (e.g. a video or a podcast) as part of your assessment. This guide provides an overview of how to submit a video or audio assignment.

The Video Assignment activity allows you to submit large multimedia files from your computer so that they can be viewed and graded by your lecturers.

The Video Assignment activity is part of Kaltura MediaSpace which is City's media platform. It is like an institutional YouTube/Vimeo system. It allows you to upload, store and share video and audio files. These files may be for assignments, for maintaining a video log or for storing important moments.

Prepare for Video Assignment

Once you have created your Video Assignment, we would recommend uploading it to MediaSpace the evening before your assessment deadline to troubleshoot any upload issues.

You can upload a wide variety of video and audio files, up to 2GB in size. For worry-free uploading, we would advise you keep files below 300MB. You can use the free program Handbrake to compress your recording.
