About Groupings

Groupings are collections of groups. If a student is in more than one group, or you want a subset of groups to work on a specific activity, you will need to use Groupings for the Groups to work correctly on the activity.

Create Groupings

  1. Select Participants from the contextual navigation menu above the module name.
  2. Open the Enrolled users drop-down menu and choose Groupings.
  3. Select Create Grouping.
  4. Add the Grouping name and optionally add a Grouping description
  5. Select Save changes.
  1. Select the Show groups in grouping icon for the grouping you wish to add groups to. This icon is available from the Edit column.

  1. Select the group/s you would like to add to the Grouping from the Potential members list of the right side of the screen. You can select multiple groups at once.
  2. Select Add to add to the groups to the Existing members list on the left.

  1. Select Back to groupings.

Confirm correct Groups are attached to the Grouping

  1. Check the grouping contains the correct groups. The groups are shown in the Groups column in the table on the Groupings page.
  2. Use the drop-down menu to access the Overview page. This will provide you with an overview of membership of all groups and groupings.
