Ratings for Forum, Database and Glossary guide

Set up ratings for forums, databases and glossaries so students and/or staff can feedback on student contributions.

Create a Scale

  1. Select the link to Grades in the contextual navigation menu above the module name.Grader report dropdown menu is open and Scales is highlighted
  2. Open the Grader report drop-down menu and select Scales.
  3. Check if the scale you want to use is available from the Standard scales.

 

  1. If the Scale you want to use is not available, select Add a new scale.
  2. Add a meaningful Name for your Scale. This will display in the drop-down menu when you next select to add a Rating.
  3. Check if you want to add the scale as a Standard scale. A Standard scale is available for any staff member to use on any module. Make sure the Name is descriptive of the Scale if you check Standard scale.
  4. Write your Scale in the Scale text field. This should be written as a list of values, ranging from negative to positive, separated by commas. For example Disappointing, Not good enough, Average, Good, Very good, Excellent.
  5. Add a Description.
  6. Select Save changes to create your scale.

  1. Open Grader Report. You can access this from the Module Dashboard. Alternatively select Grades from the Module Menu.
