About Course formats

Navigating around Moodle is like navigating a website. Select links to open content and you can use the browser back and forward buttons. City uses two course formats in Moodle to organise and present your online content. Review the relevant guide to find out about the navigation features available in each format.

  1. City Course format
    • Modules using City Course Format display in three columns with your content in the central column. Your learning content is organised into collapsible sections and these are presented as topics or by week. A Module dashboard is located at the top of the module for quick access to activities available on the module. Users can choose to hide or show the Module dashboard.
  2. Grid format
    • Modules using the Grid format display in three columns with your content in the central column. Your learning content is organised into sections and these are presented as Grids. Open the Block drawer on the right of the screen to access the Activities block for quick access to activities available on the module.
