Once the group grade has been saved and the final grades calculated, the students' submissions can no longer be edited by students. The Course Office can use the Grade Override feature to amend individual peer grades if required. See the Grade Peer Assessment guide for details of the Grade Override feature.
  4. Lock editing: If changed to Yes, students cannot change their submission or peer grades after they have made their submission. Lecturers can unlock editing for individual students while submissions are still allowed.

Assessment criteria settings

Expand the Assessment criteria settings section. Several options are available, including some settings which are revealed only when other settings are selected.

The default Assessment criteria settings are set according to the requirements of Bayes Business School.

  1. Peer grades visibility: The default setting is Hidden from students, where students do not see their peer grades at all. Select the arrow next to Hidden from students to reveal other options:
    • Visible anonymous: allow students to see their peer scores but not who gave each score.
    • Visible with usernames: allow students to see their peer scores and who gave each score.
      • If either Visible anonymous or Visible with usernames is selected, an additional field, Display peer grade totals is displayed with a default setting of No. If this setting is changed to Yes, students will be shown the total of their peer grades as a percentage for each criterion.
  2. The default setting for Require justification is hidden from students, meaning that student comments will only be visible to lecturers and not to the students' peers. Select the arrow next to Hidden from students to reveal other options:
    • Disabled: Students are not required to provide any comments to justify the grades they have given to their peers.
    • Visible anonymous: Student comments will be visible to their peers but with no names identified.
    • Visible with usernames: Student comments will be visible to their peers, and they will also see the identities of the students who left the feedback.
    • When any of the options except Disabled are selected, two additional fields are displayed:
      • Justification type: The default setting is Peer. Students are required to provide one comment to justify the grades given for each of their peers. 3. Each Peer Assessment activity has three critieria by default. It is possible to add additional criteria if required. Each of the three default criteria has set wording according to the requirements of Bayes Business School. Each criteria has two settings: Criteria X description and Criteria X scoring type. If required, select the text box to amend the wording of each criteria description or the rating options that are listed underneath the description:
    • The Critieria description is the first line of the text box.
    • Each criteria has four rating options which are listed under the criteria description, and which start with the highest scoring criteria first.  Each rating option translates to a number during the calculation which provides each student's overall grade for the Peer Assessment activity.
  4. Each of the default criteria have been set to Peerwork scoring type. In order for the activity to work correctly, this setting should not be changed.

If required, select Add 1 more criteria at the bottom of the assessment criteria settings section to add an additional criteria and repeat to add further additional criteria. The text box will be blank for any additional criteria. For each new criteria:
