Edit MediaSpace videos guide

This guide will explain how to edit videos in MediaSpace

About video hotspots

Using the video editor, it's easy to create and customise a hotspot to visual objects such as videos and images. It makes objects clickable with a customisable action associated with a selection.

Hotspots offer a way to allow users to further explore and interact with a video. Possible uses you might consider:

  • Enables users to skip to a specific point in time in the video
  • Link to relevant pages/documents
  • Encourage viewers to take the next step in a sequence i.e. watching the next video

NB Hotspots will not display if embedded outside of MediaSpace (eg in Moodle as a Video Resource).  If you are using hotspots to jump to particular timecodes within your video, we recommend creating bookmarks/chapters as these are accessible via Moodle's Video Resource.

Log into MediaSpace

  1. Log into Mediaspace using your legacy City username and password and select My Media.
  2. Choose the video that you want to edit by selecting the video frame or title of the video.
