About Moodle content

Moodle has a range of resources that lecturers use to present content to you. Providing content online gives you the opportunity to study at a time, pace and place that suits your requirements. 

Access module content in Moodle 4

Your modules will be laid out with content organised in topics or by week. Depending on the format used, these topics will be displayed in sections or in a grid.

  • Your content can be presented in a variety of Moodle formats which open within the module.
  • Some of your content will be available as downloadable PowerPoints, PDFs and word documents.

Access module content in Moodle 3.9

Your modules will normally be laid out in two columns. The main column contains your module content which is organised by topic or by week. If your content is presented in collapsed topics, where only the header is visible, select the section header to open and view the content available. You simply select the link to the content to open it.

  • Your content can be presented in a variety of Moodle formats which open within the module.
  • Some of your content will be available as downloadable PowerPoints, PDFs and word documents.

How to download alternative formats

  1. Select the Download Alternative Formats icon that appears next to file resources. An overlay window will open.

  2. Choose the alternative format that is best for your needs and select the Download button.

  3. The file will be produced in the background. Once ready, it will download to your computer. This can take a few seconds.
  4. Select the x icon on the top right of the alternative formats overlay to return to your Moodle module.
