About Moodle Mobile

Moodle has been designed responsively to enable you to access and engage with Moodle flexibly on your mobile. You can login to moodle.city.ac.uk from your mobile web browser to browse the content of your modules, to interact with online activities and to review your grades and feedback. Moodle Mobile is the official mobile app for Moodle. This enables you to browse the content of your modules, even when offline. The Moodle Mobile app is great for browsing and reviewing content.

We recommend that students use the app for browsing and reviewing content and notifications. Use the browser version of Moodle to interact with activities, for longer interactions with Moodle, and for summative activities.

Limitations of Moodle Mobile App

We have noted a number of limitations of the app and these are available below.

  • There is no notification that certain types of feedback are available on your assignment, so you might miss your feedback if accessing Moodle Grades via the App.
  • The University uses a lot of different assessment types and you are not able to submit assessments via the Mobile App. You will be prompted to login to the browser version of Moodle.
  • Video resources from MediaSpace do not display on the mobile app, so you might miss important multimedia content.
  • There is no Moodle dashboard available via the App so you will not be able to access Lecture Capture recordings, Timetable or your Reading List.
  • There is no Site home, the link will redirect to the dashboard.
