In most instances you will be sharing your Lecture Capture content with students by connecting your Lecture Capture to the associated Moodle module.
If required, you can also cross publish recordings to more than one module and create a link for all staff and students to your recording.
In Echo, you can publish to more than one section (module) if you are the owner of the Lecture Capture recording e.g. you were added as the owner when the Lecture Capture was scheduled.
If you are sharing a recording to another Moodle module, check that you have connected Echo to the second Moodle module.
The steps below will take you through how to create a link that is available to all staff and students.
Echo 360 Collections allow staff to create collections of recordings from different modules and events. You can create a collection of recordings from your library, and make it available to students who aren't enrolled on the module the recordings were sourced from.
You can enrol other staff onto your collections and they can then add to and manage the collection.
Please note that, the ability to create and manage collections has been restricted to staff only.
As long as you are the owner of the Lecture Capture recordings, you can reuse Lecture Capture recordings from a previous year. You will find all your recordings in your Library tab in Echo360. Select the video. Select Share and select Class . Input your Course, Term and section. Select New class . Provide a title for the Class, input a date and select Share
Downloads are set to off by default. The content owner can enable the setting for students to download Lecture Capture recordings in a module. Alternatively the content owner can download or give permission for a staff member enrolled on the Moodle module to download a recording and make it available to an individual student.
Students may require a download for a specific purpose e.g. to review the recording with assistive technology such as Caption.Ed, Jamworks . When sharing the download, remind students that they are required to comply with the Online Teaching Materials and Lecture Recordings Policy and use downloads only for their own study and delete the recording when it is no longer required.
Users enrolled in staff roles on modules including Lecturers, Programme Administrators, Teaching Assistants, Staff Observers can download separate files of the Lecture Capture recording. Whomever is listed as the content owner must make the decision/be informed before the recording is downloaded. The recording will download to your device and then you can share it with the student via OneDrive.
If you need to combine both video streams, you can create the split-screen effect using Adobe Rush.
