Extend Lecture Capture guide

Extend your use of Lecture Capture by ingesting your Zoom recordings and recording student presentations.

Guidance for your students

Students will be able to access all the Zoom recordings that you have shared with a section via the topic/week link to Lecture Capture in your module and from the link to Lecture Capture in the Module dashboard.

On Grid format, students can access the link in the relevant Grid or they can open the Block drawer and navigate to the Activities block, select the link to External tools and then select the link to the Lecture Capture activity.

As long as you had enabled Audio transcript in your Zoom recording settings (available from Zoom advanced meeting settings), students will be able to access a transcript of the recording when viewing the live lecture recording. They can open the transcript icon from the top right of the screen when viewing the recording.

If you had selected to allow students to download content, they can download the transcript and open it with NotePad or a similar plain text editor.

For recordings uploaded after November 2022, students will be able to activate closed captions on the recording as well as viewing the transcript. This is available to students from the bottom of the screen when they are viewing the recording.
