A Marking guide is similar to a rubric, but simpler. For each marking criterion, a description explains what is required, and provides a maximum mark that can be awarded. Students can view the criteria before they submit, so that they know what their learning priorities are in relation to the assignment. When you mark, you can view the criteria and add your comments and grades for each criteria or use the frequently added comments function. Marking using a marking record is more detailed and less subjective than awarding a single grade.
Please be aware that marking records do have to be completed online, so ensure all your markers are able to mark online.
