Monitor progress guide

Explore the activities and features available in Moodle to help you monitor student progress.

Tick off Checklist items by lecturers

If the Updates by option in the Checklist is set to Teachers only or Student and teacher, you will be able to manually tick off an item in a Checklist for any student.

  1. Open the Checklist activity.
  2. Select View Progress from the contextual navigation menu. A table of how students are currently progressing through the Checklist will display.
  3. Select the Edit checks button above the table.

  4. Tick off the Checklist item using the Yes / No drop-down.

  5. Select Toggle Column or Toggle Row to fill the column or row with Yes or No.
  6. Select Save at the bottom left of the View progress page.

Add Comments to Checklist items

If the checklist is set up with the Teachers can add comments enabled, lecturers will be able to add comments to a checklist item for individual students:

  1. Open the Checklist activity.
  2. Select View Progress from the contextual navigation menu. A table displaying students' progress on the activity will display.
  3. Select the magnifying glass icon located to the right or below a particular student's name.
  4. Select the Add comments button. A text box appears next to the checklist items.
  5. Enter your comments.
  6. Select Save.
