Mill Tour

The Media & Innovation Learning Lab (The MILL) is a suite of facilities and equipment available to staff for multimedia creation. It is run by Learning Enhancement and Development.

Discover all the ways you can bring your multimedia ideas to life with a 30-minute in-person tour of the MILL facilities. Use the MILL Tour form on IT Self Service Portal to schedule a tour on a Monday, Tuesday or Thursday.

Presentation Station induction

The Presentation Station is a recording system for creating educational videos. It allows a presenter to be superimposed over a background, which can be an image, a screen capture, or a PowerPoint presentation. To keep the presentation on track, the notes from a PowerPoint can be displayed on-screen or the built-in autocue can be used.

The recording is saved as an mp4 video, which can be easily uploaded to a user's MediaSpace for use in their teaching.

To aid production time, the video is made live. With a title generator, pre-made arrangements and an opportunity to pause, with a little planning no post editing will be required.

The system is located within the LEaD office (room B315) on the 3rd floor of University Building. An induction session can be booked on a Monday, Tuesday or Thursday, depending on availability.

All inductions for the Presentation Station must be booked via the MILL Facilites Request Form

Video editing with Premier Rush

Adobe Premiere Rush is a simple but powerful video editing tool. It's an ideal entry-level video editing tool if you want to go further than the basic editing options offered in programs such as Kaltura or Echo360. It part of the Adobe Creative Cloud set of applications and is either preinstalled on University devices or can be installed via Company Portal. Licencing and installation information.

This session will go over how to create projects, import media, make edits to both audio and video track and how to publish your finished video clip.
