Module full name and short name

Check that the Module full name is correct. If the name of the module is incorrect, the name must first be amended in SITS. Contact your Course Office team to change the information in SITS. The updated titled will pushed to Moodle and the module name updated.

If your module has a short name that starts GEN or MDL, log a ticket with IT Self Service Portal and IT can change the name for you.

Module start date & download module content

From the General settings you can change the module visibility from the drop-down menu. If Show is displaying on the Module visibility drop-down menu the module is available to students.

If a module is hidden from students it will display the text Module is hidden when staff visit the module page. You can quickly make the module visible by clicking on the Show Module button and confirming.

You can set a module to automatically open on a certain date by setting the Module visibility drop-down option to Hide and setting a Module start date in the future.

The Enable download module content setting enables you to control the bulk download of module content. If you change this to No, students and staff will not be able to bulk download module content. Users will still be able to download content file by file.
