The MILL and TV Studio

This guide will explain the capabilities of the MILL and TV studio

Microphone

  • You'll find the microphone on the small trolley to the left of the desk. Remove it from the charging cable.
  • The microphone should already be switched on. If not, hold the round button on the side until 2 lights come on.
  • Attach the Rode microphone to an item of clothing (e.g., lapel) or attach it to the supplied lanyard and wear around your neck.
  • Please return the microphone to the trolly and insert the charging cable when finished.

Audio meter

audio meter

The audio meter shows your microphone level as you speak. Ideally, when speaking normally the volume should peak between the two while lines. If the outer bar reaches the top of the meter and flashes bright red, then it means your volume is so high it is overloading the system and distortion will occur.

Audio set-up

To adjust your audio settings, use the AUDIO SET-UP button on the main interface.

Recording level

If your volume is too low or high, use the volume dropdown to change it. The mic can also be switched off here.

Mute computer audio

To mute computer sounds (e.g., YouTube videos you are capturing) switch the MUTE button on.
