STEM Digital Studio guide

This guide will give you useful advice around using the new STEM Digital TV Studio and the production of video presentations for your courses

About live streaming

Live streaming is essentially performing your presentation live over the internet, using a platform such as Zoom or Teams.

Before you begin

From the Rapidmooc Homepage, select the icon located in the top right-hand corner of your screen to minimize the app window and access the desktop.

Live streaming using Zoom

  1. Keep the Rapidmooc App minimised.
  2. Launch the Zoom app by selecting the Zoom icon or launching it from the Start menu.
  3. Sign into Zoom by entering your email address & password.
  4. Create a new meeting or join an existing one and join with computer audio.
  5. Select the Blackmagic Design (BMD HDMI) microphone in the audio settings.
  6. Similarly select Blackmagic Design from the camera list and turn camera on.
  7. The presentation from the Rapidmooc should appear on the screen.
  8. If the screen appears inverted, select Video Settings, tick the HD box and untick the mirror my video option.
  9. During a Zoom meeting, we recommend you do not leverage screen sharing and rather change the views with the Rapidmooc App. The presentation should now appear correctly.
  10. Once your meeting is ended, remember to quit the zoom application.

Live streaming using Microsoft Teams

  1. Keep the Rapidmooc App minimised.
  2. Launch the Teams app by selecting the Teams icon or launching it from the Start menu.
  3. Sign into Teams by entering your email address & password.
  4. Create a new meeting or join an existing one and join with computer audio.
  5. Select the Blackmagic Design (BMD HDMI) microphone in the audio settings.
  6. Similarly select Blackmagic Design from the camera list and turn camera on.
  7. The presentation from the Rapidmooc will appear on-screen inverted, but viewers will see your image the right way around.
  8. Only present via the Rapidmooc application. Do not use Screen Share.
