STEM Digital Studio guide

This guide will give you useful advice around using the new STEM Digital TV Studio and the production of video presentations for your courses

Recording

  1. Make sure you are in Record video mode

  1. Press the Start button to start recording

  1. A 3 second timer will count down. Start speaking immediately when 0 disappears
  2. Simply talk while controlling content on your laptop
  3. Press the Pause button if you need to pause between your recording. You may want to change to a different mode or switch from Laptop to Visualiser
  4. Press the Stop button when you are finished

Fade in / out

If you are appearing in front of your presentation, you can fade out / in again by using the fade button. 

Playback

  1. Navigate to the Home option  
  2. Press the Videos button will take you to your video library

  1. Click on any thumbnail to select a video and press the triangle Play button at the bottom to start playing

Doing a practice run

A practice run will often benefit your presentation and highlight any little niggles before you start recording.

  1. Stand in front of the green screen. 
  2. Ensure you have connected your laptop via HDMI cable and the HDMI option is chosen on the Creston panel, or you are using the lectern PC and PC is chosen on the Creston panel
  3. Check that you have 3 good input signals: media, camera and audio. 
  4. Load your PowerPoint presentation and put your slideshow in presentation mode. 
  5. Take the PowerPoint remote control so you can interact with your presentation media by inserting the USB to your laptop device. 
  6. Ensure that you have selected the video mode that you wish to use.
  7. Ensure that you appear at the right position and in the right size on the presentation. Use the CAMERA CONTROL to change preset or adjust speaker size if necessary. 
  8. Rehearse your presentation. 
  9. Use the fade button to show/hide camera view during the presentation if necessary. 
  10. Pause the recording before switching video mode or when moving to the visualiser or Wacom
