STEM Digital Studio guide

This guide will give you useful advice around using the new STEM Digital TV Studio and the production of video presentations for your courses

Lectern PC or your own laptop

You can present on the lectern PC or use your own laptop - the choice is yours.

Using the Lectern PC

  1. Turn on the lectern PC.

  1. Set the Crestron panel to PC. The Wacom tablet will act as the PC display.

  1. Once Windows starts, login to your account using the black keyboard and mouse.
  2. In Rapidmooc, make sure the Content source is set to Laptop source to show the PC display as a background.

Attaching your laptop

The screen from your laptop can be used as a background for your presentation. Usually this is a PowerPoint presentation but in theory it could be anything: an image, a video, a website or an application. Also note, the sound from your laptop is also recorded so if you don't want this included, set your volume level to zero.

  1. Plug the HDMI cable input into your laptop. A range of adaptors are included for different laptop ports.

  1. Using the touchscreen Creston panel, select HDMI.
  2. To see the output from your laptop on the Rapidmooc screen, you may need to change some settings:
    • Pick a suitable Recording mode (see Recording modes for more information).
    • Change the Content source on the Rapidmooc to Laptop source
  3. You may also need to adjust the mirroring options on the laptop or activate the display out
