About Self Completion block

The Self completion block is part of the Module completion feature set. It provides a link for students to declare that they have completed the module.

Set up manual self completion

The Module completion setting must have the Manual self Completion box checked for the Self completion block to work.

  1. Select More from the contextual navigation menu.
  2. Select Module completion.
  3. Select Enable alongside Condition: Manual self completion.
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Save changes.

Add the Self completion block to your module

  1. Turn Edit mode on.
  2. Open the Block drawer on the right of the module.
  3. Select Add a block. An overlay window displays available blocks.
  4. Select Self completion from the list.
  5. The Self completion block will display at the bottom of the Block drawer.

Student interaction with Self-completion block

  1. When a student believes they have completed the course, they open the Block drawer on the right of the screen.
  2. Navigate to block titled Self completion.Complete course link in Self completion block
  3. Select the Complete course link.
  4. They are then asked to confirm they have completed the course and the course status will change to Complete in this block.
  5. If there are additional Module completion criteria required to complete the module the Module completion status block will display as In progress for the student.
